Novel

A novel is a piece of fictional prose usually written in a narrative style. A novel can assume diverse forms. It can be about any subject with various shapes and with various characters. Great novels have been written in both realistic and non - realistic modes. it is impossible, thus, to summarize the 'essential features' of a novel in a compact formula. Perhaps by way of defining the novel all that one can say is that the majority of novels are fairly long fictional narratives. Often it occurs at a particular location/ setting and often it comments on human life (not necessarily human) through interaction of a group of characters within a plot of some magnitude.
